An alternate pond filter
My stepfather uses a 55-gallon plastic trashcan with lid. He has an out flow fitting at the bottom, which goes to a short
runway and to a 6 inch waterfall back into the top pond.
The water goes from the top pond to a second pond with a sump with holds a small pump. The pump sends the water to the
trash can filter; via a hose through the top of the lid. The filter is made up of two bags of regular charcoal and 2 or three
cheap fiber Wal-Mart pillows.
